Lan-Xin Wei

Lan-Xin is an intern at LeidenAsiaCentre focusing on communication.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies from Leiden University, she pursued her Master’s degree in East Asian Studies also in Leiden during which she founded the study association “Asian Studies International Association”. She graduated cum laude from the MA East Asian Studies in 2023, writing her thesis on the censorship of queer content in popular Chinese webseries. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chinese Studies at Leiden University.

Her research interests include: Censorship, Sociology, Political Communication and Media in Contemporary China
