Daan Kingma is a research intern at the LeidenAsiaCentre. Currently, he is a MA student East Asian Studies at Leiden University, where he completed a related premaster (8.8 GPA). He is also pursuing a legal research LLM at the University of Groningen, where he obtained his Bachelor Degree (International and European Law, cum laude). Previously, he interned at the Ministry of Justice and Security.

His interests mainly lay at the crossroads of China studies and law. At the LeidenAsiaCentre, he researches the relationship between the Netherlands and Taiwan for the Dutch parliament. He also examines the implications of the new Chinese Civil Code for China’s digital economy.
