Carlijn Kroesen

Carlijn Kroesen is a staff member at the LeidenAsiaCentre and works as a junior researcher. She graduated in June 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Organizations from the University of Groningen. Her bachelor’s thesis examined the differences in China’s foreign policy strategies.

In addition to her work at the LeidenAsiaCentre, Carlijn is pursuing a Master’s degree in Crisis and Security Management, with a specialization in Intelligence and National Security, at Leiden University. Furthermore, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Asian Studies: Politics, Society and Economy of Asia.

Her research interests include: international security, Dutch-China relations, intelligence, diplomacy and cybersecurity.
