On February 21st, the LeidenAsiaCentre co-organised a conference on China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) from an international political and legal perspective. Spread out over three sessions, experts presented their views on the BRI from different standpoints and answered questions raised by audience members. The event was moderated by Prof. dr. Henk Vording and opened by Assoc. prof. Irma Johanna Mosquera Valderrama and Prof. dr. Panos Merkouris, who each introduced their respective European Research Council project (GLOBTAXGOV and TRICI-LAW), which had in turn inspired this conference.
