Call for Volunteers: Leiden Asia Centre Anniversary Symposium
We need you!
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help us during our Anniversary Symposium on October 1st!
What and why?
To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are organising a large symposium on October 1st🎉. The event features guest speakers with many different national, ethnic and professional backgrounds, who will discuss various topics on contemporary Asia. From Korean soft power to ASEAN politics, AI in China, and much more!
To ensure a smooth and well-organised symposium, we are in need of motivated volunteers who are able to help us with logistics on the day itself💪

Who are we looking for?
- Enthusiastic, involved and friendly people with affinity for Asia research
- Speaking English is required, Dutch would be helpful
- Available on (part of) the day itself
- Available on the online preparation meeting: Monday 21 September 10:00h (tentative)
What are you going to do?
Tasks do not require much preparation! Examples of tasks are the following:
- Keeping track of the guest list
- Handing out keycords and other merchandise to guests
- Showing guests around the venue
- Accompanying guest speakers from the airport/train station to their hotel (on September 30th)
What will you receive?
- Access to the symposium and its panels & lectures (= invitation only!)
- Great networking opportunity with speakers and guests from around the world
- Compensation of travel costs
- Leiden Asia Centre pen & notebook
- Of course free lunch, drinks and snacks 🙂 !
