Seminar: Current developments on the Korean Peninsula

Together with the Clingendael Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, LeidenAsiaCentre hosts a seminar on the current developments on the Korean peninsula. Many events have happened in the past few months, such as Kim Jong-Un meeting with South Korea’s president Moon Jae-In, the release of three Americans by North Korea, and the announcement of an official meeting between Kim Jong-Un and president Donald Trump.
On the 22nd of May, Professor Remco Breuker (Korean Studies, Leiden University), His Excellency Lee Yun-Young (Ambassador to the Republic of Korea), Dr Jun Bong-Geun (Advisor on the Inter-Korean Summit 2018), Sico van der Meer (Research Fellow, Clingendael Institute) and Peter Potman (Director Asia and Oceania, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) will discuss the recent developments and their implications, with opportunities for the audience to ask questions.
